Ingredients

Scale

Salad Base

  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant butterscotch pudding mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 ounces Cool Whip (or whipped cream)

Mix-ins

  • 3 large Granny Smith apples, cut into 1/2″ pieces (reserve 1/2 cup for garnish)
  • 6 full-size Snickers Candy Bars, cut into 1/2″ pieces (reserve 1/2 cup for garnish)
  • 2 tablespoons caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding mixture: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the instant butterscotch pudding mix and milk until the pudding is well combined and starts to thicken. Then gently fold in the Cool Whip to create a smooth, creamy base.
  2. Fold in apples and Snickers: Carefully add the diced Granny Smith apples and chopped Snickers candy bars to the pudding mixture. Gently fold them in to evenly distribute without breaking the ingredients apart. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. Serve with garnishes: Just before serving, gently stir the salad to re-incorporate any settled ingredients. Transfer to a serving bowl, drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the top, and sprinkle with the reserved apple and Snickers pieces for an attractive presentation and extra texture. Enjoy immediately!

Notes

  • Use Granny Smith apples for their tartness and firmness; other crisp apple varieties can be used but may alter the taste and texture.
  • For a lighter option, substitute Cool Whip with whipped cream or a dairy-free alternative.
  • Chill the salad for at least an hour before serving to allow flavors to meld and pudding to set.
  • Use caution when chopping candy bars to avoid overly small bits that may clump together.
  • This salad is best enjoyed the same day it is made to maintain apple crispness.
