Ingredients

Scale

Slider Components

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 16 ounces breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 4 ounces Colby Jack cheese (slices)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Syrup Glaze

  • 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350˚F to prepare for baking the assembled sliders later.
  2. Cook the Sausage: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the breakfast sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon or spatula as it cooks. Once fully cooked, remove the sausage from the pan and optionally drain on paper towels to remove excess grease.
  3. Scramble the Eggs: Crack the eggs into the same skillet, season with salt and pepper, reduce the heat to low, and cook them covered until set. Then fold the cooked eggs into a rectangular shape and remove from heat.
  4. Prepare the Syrup Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter and maple syrup until fully combined for a sweet and buttery glaze.
  5. Assemble the Sliders: Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally. Layer each bottom half with the scrambled eggs, cooked sausage, and Colby Jack cheese slices. Replace the tops of the rolls and use a serrated knife to cut between each slider.
  6. Apply the Glaze and Bake: Brush the syrup glaze generously over the tops of the sliders, then bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes until the sliders are hot and the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • You can substitute the Colby Jack cheese with cheddar or your favorite cheese for variation.
  • Drain the sausage well if you prefer less grease in your sliders.
  • Use a serrated knife to cut the sliders cleanly without squashing them.
  • These sliders can be made ahead and reheated in the oven before serving.
  • For a spicier option, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sausage while cooking.
