Instructions

  1. Melt Sherbet: Place 2 scoops of orange sherbet in a bowl and allow it to melt at room temperature until fully softened.
  2. Dissolve Gelatin: In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the unflavored gelatin powder. Let it stand for 2 minutes, then bring the mixture to a boil, stirring to dissolve the gelatin completely. Remove from heat and let cool for 15 minutes.
  3. Mix Alcohol and Sherbet: Add 1 cup of Rum Chata to the melted orange sherbet and stir until well combined.
  4. Combine Gelatin Mixture: Pour the cooled gelatin mixture into the sherbet and Rum Chata mixture, stirring until everything is fully incorporated.
  5. Fill Shot Glasses: Carefully pour the mixture into 16 to 18 plastic shot glasses.
  6. Freeze and Chill: Place the filled shot glasses in the freezer for 2 hours to set, then transfer them to the refrigerator for 1 hour before serving.
  7. Serve: Top each jello shot with whipped cream and enjoy your creamy, boozy treat!

Notes

  • Be sure to allow the gelatin to cool before mixing to avoid curdling the sherbet.
  • Use plastic shot glasses for easy serving and portion control.
  • Melt sherbet completely to ensure smooth mixing.
  • Store leftover jello shots in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best taste and texture.
  • Adjust alcohol quantity slightly if you prefer stronger or milder shots, but be careful not to disrupt the gelatin setting.
