Crab Rangoon Dip is a creamy, cheesy appetizer inspired by the classic Crab Rangoon wontons. This baked dip combines cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and a mix of savory seasonings with tender lump crab meat and a blend of mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Served warm with crispy wonton chips or crackers, it’s perfect for parties or game day snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Base

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cheeses and Crab

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 oz lump crab meat, picked over for shells

Garnish

  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

For Serving

  • Wonton chips or crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven. Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the proper temperature by the time your dip is ready for baking.
  2. Mix Dip Base. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, soy sauce, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Add Cheeses and Crab. Gently fold in shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan cheese, lump crab meat, and thinly sliced green onions into the creamy base to evenly distribute all ingredients without breaking up the crab meat.
  4. Prepare Baking Dish. Transfer the combined mixture into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula for even cooking.
  5. Bake the Dip. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the top achieves a light golden color.
  6. Serve Warm. Remove from the oven and serve immediately alongside wonton chips or crackers for dipping.

Notes

  • For best results, pick through the crab meat carefully to remove any shells.
  • Wonton chips can be store-bought or homemade by frying wonton wrappers until crisp.
  • This dip can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Feel free to adjust the seasoning to your taste by adding more garlic or soy sauce if desired.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
