Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 small cardamom pods
  • 1 tablespoon cane sugar

Instructions

  1. Crush Cardamom: Take 2 small cardamom pods and crush them roughly using a mortar and pestle. Use only 1 pod if you prefer a milder flavor.
  2. Prepare Cardamom: Crush the pods coarsely and set aside.
  3. Heat Milk: Pour 1 and 1/2 cups of milk into a saucepan and bring it to a boil, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  4. Add Cardamom: Once milk boils, add the crushed cardamom pods.
  5. Infuse Flavor: Reduce heat to simmer and let it cook for 2 minutes to fully infuse the cardamom flavor into the milk.
  6. Add Sugar: Turn off the heat and add 1 tablespoon of cane sugar (regular white sugar can be used as a substitute).
  7. Mix Well: Stir the mixture well until the sugar dissolves completely.
  8. Strain Milk: Pour the milk through a fine strainer to remove cardamom pod remnants.
  9. Serve: Transfer the strained milk into a serving mug and enjoy it hot.

Notes

  • Adjust the number of cardamom pods according to your preferred strength of flavor.
  • Use full-fat milk for a richer taste or substitute with plant-based milk for a vegan option.
  • Sweeten with honey or jaggery as alternatives to cane sugar.
  • Serve immediately for the best flavor and warmth.
