Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 2–3 tbsp sweetener (such as sugar, honey, or a sugar substitute)
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Boil the eggs: Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then cook for 9 to 12 minutes to ensure they are fully hard-boiled. Once finished, drain the hot water and transfer the eggs to a bowl of cold water to cool. Peel off the shells carefully.
- Blend the eggs: Place the peeled hard-boiled eggs into a blender. Blend on high speed until the eggs reach a smooth and creamy consistency without lumps.
- Add remaining ingredients: Add the sweetener, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract to the blender with the eggs. Blend again until the mixture is completely smooth and evenly combined into a mousse-like texture.
- Chill: Pour the prepared mousse into individual serving dishes or ramekins. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the mousse to set and develop a chilled, creamy consistency.
- Serve: After chilling, serve your rich and creamy boiled egg chocolate mousse immediately. Enjoy this unique dessert that’s both nutritious and indulgent.
Notes
- Use a sweetener of your choice; adjust the quantity according to your preferred sweetness level.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute milk with almond, soy, or oat milk.
- Make sure eggs are fully cooled before peeling to avoid burning your fingers and to make peeling easier.
- This mousse can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days for best freshness.
- If you prefer a thicker mousse, reduce the milk slightly or chill longer before serving.
