Ingredients

Scale

For the Pizza:

  • 2 pieces of naan bread (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries
  • ½ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing the naan)
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

For the Honey-Caramelized Onions:

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the Onions: In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes until softened and golden brown.
  2. Glaze the Onions: Once the onions are caramelized, drizzle in the honey, season with salt and pepper, stir well, and cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow the honey to coat the onions. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the naan pizzas.
  4. Prepare the Naan: Brush both sides of each naan piece lightly with olive oil to ensure crispiness and flavor.
  5. Bake the Naan: Place the naan on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes until warm and lightly crisped.
  6. Assemble the Pizzas: Remove naan from the oven and evenly spread the caramelized onions over each piece.
  7. Add Toppings: Sprinkle crumbled feta cheese and fresh blueberries evenly over the onions on both naan pieces.
  8. Bake the Pizzas: Return the naan pizzas to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the feta softens and the blueberries start to burst.
  9. Garnish: Remove pizzas from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped basil for a burst of herbal freshness.
  10. Serve: Slice and serve the naan pizzas immediately while warm and delicious.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh basil with arugula or mint for a different herbaceous note.
  • For a vegan option, replace butter with olive oil and use vegan feta cheese or omit cheese.
  • If naan bread is not available, pita bread or flatbreads can be used as alternatives.
  • Ensure not to overbake to keep the naan soft with a crisp edge.
  • Blueberries can be replaced with blackberries or sliced figs for variation.
